Auxiliary News for November and December 2008

I would like to thank all the volunteers who helped with the rummage/book sale:
Clara, Mary Lou, Jan, Anna, Fran, Sally, Liz, Betty, Randy, Jim, and Dominic. We had
a very nice selection of items this year and I thank all who donated things. We made
about $500 after expenses.
In November we have a chance to catch our breath after a very busy October.
Then in December things get a bit crazy again with the shopping and visiting nursing
home residents and keeping in touch with our veterans, but it’s a wonderful time of the
year and we look forward to it every year.
Don’t forget to vote on Tuesday, November 4, 2008.
Please join us at the VFW for the Veteran’s Day Ceremonies on Tuesday,
November 11th. Our next business meeting is also on November 11th at 7:00 pm,
please come to see what’s going on at the Post.
I just turned in approximately 16 pounds of pull tabs (that’s over 20,000 !!!!!) to
the Volunteer Transportation Center. They will recycle them and use the proceeds for
gas money to transport veterans, seniors and people with disabilities to appointments.
Thanks to everyone who helped. Keep putting the pull tabs, the Campbell’s labels, and
Box Tops for Education, in the jars on the hall table, their greatly appreciated.
Our next county meeting will be on November 22nd in Adams.
